DIY Picture Canvas

Hello lovely ladies. How are you guys doing?
Today I wanted to share an awesome canvas idea that you can make for your little ones or as a gift. My little girl is about to turn 1! Yep time goes by too fast right?!?! In getting everything ready for her party, I wanted to make a little something that I can place on the table where the cakes and cupcakes will be. The idea of a canvas with pictures of her popped into my mind and so I decided I would make one.
This project was so much fun and easy to make. There are no rights or wrongs. Just whip up some pictures, scissors, a blank canvas, some paint & brushes, glue gun & tape, your favorite embellishments and your set!
Here are a few pictures of how I made mine.
First I painted the canvas pink. I added some beige and a darker pink to add a little bit of contrast.
I didn't really bother painting where the picture was going to be since It wasn't going to show.
Next I decided to use a piece of ribbon that ran across the canvas. First I glued it to the back.
And then ran it across like this.
I decided to add some pink buttons to the center of the flowers. Just to give it a cute touch.
After that was done. I used mod podge on the big picture to glue it down. I added adhesive foam to the little one so that It would pop up a bit.
Next I used tulle that I had left over after making her tutu, to put on the bottom of a ribbon flower that I had made a while back.
Like this :) I love the way it looks.
Next I added some cute embellishments.
"I Adore You"
I used my Cricut to add her name on the canvas.
I also cut out a couple hearts. They were both different sizes and colors. I used adhesive foam once again so they can pop out.
And then I was done! I love the way it turned out:)
I hope you feel inspired to make your own!
Blessings...

Blueberry Pancakes

So today I wanted to share with you all one of my favorite breakfast, Oat Flour Blueberry Pancakes! They are oh so yummy. I had never tried them before and the day I did, I loved them. They are so moist and fluffy. You would never think that they aren't made with white flour.
They are perfect and way healthier for you too!
I got the recipe from The Biggest Loser Prevention Magazine.
Hope you try them:)

Ingredients
1/2 cup reduced-fat buttermilk
1/2 cup whole grain oat flour
1 large egg white, lightly beaten
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup fresh or frozen (not thawed) blueberries

*TIP:I used organic rolled oats, put them in my food processor & made my own flour.

Method
Combine buttermilk, flour, egg white, baking soda, salt and vanilla extract in a bowl. Whisk just until blended. Stir in blueberries and let stand for 10 minutes.
Heat large nonstick skillet over medium heat until it is hot enough for a spritz of water to sizzle.
Lightly spray your skillet with the oil of your choice. I use grape seed oil. (Check this LINK out so you know why your not suppose to cook with olive oil!)
Pour batter in 1/8-cup dollops onto skillet to form 4 pancakes.
Cook about 2 minutes or until bubbles appear. Flip. Cook 2 more minutes or until browned on bottom.
Repeat with cooking spray and remaining batter to make 8 pancakes total.
Place 4 pancakes on each of 2 serving plates. Serve immediately with syrup is desired. We use a little bit of agave. Enough to sweeten them up a bit.
ENJOY!

Banana Cookie Anti-Dandruff Scalp Treatment

Today I wanted to share a mask that I made for my itchy scalp. Lately my head has been so dry. I don't know if It's the weather or what but It's been bad. I felt like I desperately needed something to calm the itchiness. I opened a book that I recently bought on Amazon. It's called Green Beauty. It's written by Julie Gabriel and It truly is an awesome book.
Turns out though that I didn't have a few ingredients for some of the recipes that I wanted to make. Since I had everything for this one I decided to make it.
* * *
Here are the Ingredients:
1/2 cup finely ground oatmeal
1 cup water
1-2 very ripe bananas
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

How to:
1.) Finely grind oats in a coffee grinder or blender. Boil the water and pour over oats.
2.) Let it stand for half an hour.
3.) Peel and mash bananas. Combine the puree and nutmeg with oatmeal.
4.) Stir well until all the ingredients are mixed.
5.) Add more water if needed. DONE!
Application:
Shampoo your hair and rinse thoroughly. Apply the mask generously over your hair, massaging it deeply into the roots. Cover your hair with a shower cap, (I used a plastic bag) wrap your head with a towel. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and then rinse.

Just to let you know the mask was a little hard to get off. I had to rinse it off three times to be able to get all of it off. It almost looked like I had stuck bread crumbs on my head, LOL.
I suggest you do this on a day that your not planning to go anywhere. Or do it at night and rinse off as much as possible. In the morning take another shower and rinse it off completely in the tub.

I'm happy to say that It did work beautifully. My scalp has not been itchy once during the whole day. I think I'll try it again within the next few days. I'm pretty sure that my scalp will feel dry again If I don't continuously treat it with something. I want to be able to do it before it comes back.

*Helpful Tips*Bananas feed the hair with vitamin C, potassium and vitamin B6. Oats are highly absorbing and cooling. In fact Oatmeal has been clinically proven to sooth dry, itching scalp. Nutmeg is naturally antiseptic and helps relieve itchiness.

Fresh Pineapple Water

So today I wanted to share an easy and refreshing way to accompany a meal or even just by itself. Either way tastes yummy. Normally I drink water with my meal but today I wanted to make something different for myself and the family, pineapple water. Mmm so good.
If you don't like pineapple, don't fret...the possibilties are endless. All you have to do is cut up your favorite fruit, put it in your blender, add enough water to cover the fruit, blend, serve and enjoy! Super fast and way healthier than soda or juices that have a whole bunch of added sugar and artificial flavors. Especially if you have little ones at home. They certainly don't need all that extra processed sugar! I added a little bit of honey. Agave nectar and stevia work great as well. Here are a few different fresh fruit waters that I have tried over the years.
Pineapple
Strawberry with pineapple
Cucumber
Watermelon
Cantaloupe
Honeydew
Papaya
Grape
Mango
Guava
Pear
Of course you can do lemon and orange too, only juice the fruit though...don't blend it. LOL
Oh and by the way, some of these waters will be naturally sweet, no need to add anything to them.
Here are a few pictures of how mine turned out.
...Blessings...
