Banana Cookie Anti-Dandruff Scalp Treatment

Today I wanted to share a mask that I made for my itchy scalp. Lately my head has been so dry. I don't know if It's the weather or what but It's been bad. I felt like I desperately needed something to calm the itchiness. I opened a book that I recently bought on Amazon. It's called Green Beauty. It's written by Julie Gabriel and It truly is an awesome book.
Turns out though that I didn't have a few ingredients for some of the recipes that I wanted to make. Since I had everything for this one I decided to make it.

Here are the Ingredients:
1/2 cup finely ground oatmeal
1 cup water
1-2 very ripe bananas
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

How to:
1.) Finely grind oats in a coffee grinder or blender. Boil the water and pour over oats.
2.) Let it stand for half an hour.
3.) Peel and mash bananas. Combine the puree and nutmeg with oatmeal.
4.) Stir well until all the ingredients are mixed.
5.) Add more water if needed. DONE!
Application:
Shampoo your hair and rinse thoroughly. Apply the mask generously over your hair, massaging it deeply into the roots. Cover your hair with a shower cap, (I used a plastic bag) wrap your head with a towel. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and then rinse.

Just to let you know the mask was a little hard to get off. I had to rinse it off three times to be able to get all of it off. It almost looked like I had stuck bread crumbs on my head, LOL.
I suggest you do this on a day that your not planning to go anywhere. Or do it at night and rinse off as much as possible. In the morning take another shower and rinse it off completely in the tub.

I'm happy to say that It did work beautifully. My scalp has not been itchy once during the whole day. I think I'll try it again within the next few days. I'm pretty sure that my scalp will feel dry again If I don't continuously treat it with something. I want to be able to do it before it comes back.

*Helpful Tips*Bananas feed the hair with vitamin C, potassium and vitamin B6. Oats are highly absorbing and cooling. In fact Oatmeal has been clinically proven to sooth dry, itching scalp. Nutmeg is naturally antiseptic and helps relieve itchiness.

Blessings,
