Lemon Tea Tree Oil Sugar Scrub

Hello everyone. Hope your week has been blessed so far!

As for me, it's been great. I was able to getaway with my family for a few days for my Birthday.

Rancho Mirage is beautiful. My hubby took me out to dinner last night and it was wonderful. There was a lot of cute shops and the houses full of Christmas lights look so pretty.

It's been a sweet time and I don't want to leave!

Oh well, everything comes to an end so i guess I'll just have to enjoy my last day here :)

Moving onto the crafty side of me, I wanted to share this sugar scrub that I came up with.

My hands have been so so dry lately that I felt like I needed a scrub to get rid of all my dead skin. I wanted something that was gonna leave them soft and moist.

I made a few mason jars filled with this yummy scrub and I left some extra for me.

I love it and I love the smell of tea tree oil.

It might be a little too strong for some of you but feel free to change the oil to whatever your favorite smell is. You can use roses, grapefruit lavender, etc...whatever you want is fine!

Here are the ingredients:

2 cups of sugar

8 tablespoons of epsom salt

6 packages of green tea

3 tablespoon of olive oil

1 tablesppn of lanolin

1/3 cup of honey

10 drops of tea tree oil

a big bowl

3 small mason jars

Instructions:

Put the sugar in your bowl.

Add the epsom salt.

Cut your green tea bags and pour the tea in the mixture.

Add the olive oil & the lanolin & stir.

Add the honey.

And lastly add the tea tree oil a few drops at a time until it reaches the smell you want your sugar scrub to have. I added ten drops and that gave it a nice smell.

At this point I just used my hands to make sure all the ingredients were mixed well.

Pour mixture into your mason jars and give them a cute touch by decorating them.

I love how simple and pretty they turned out. There great as Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, teachers gifts, etc...

You'll have scrub left over enough for you so that's a blessing :)

White Chocolate Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark

Hello friends. Today i wanted to share a simple yummy dessert that you can make in no time.

Who likes white chocolate?

!!!ME ME ME!!!

It's so good, if there are any of you who aren't too fond if it, don't fret! You can use milk chocolate too & may i just add that Ghirardelli is the best, on my palette anyway.

I added a cute little packaging idea to these sweat treats. I thought they looked so so cute.

You can get these adorable boxes over at Michael's. I actually did this last year for little Christmas presents but i made cookies instead.

It's a simple, pretty, yet inexpensive gift that you can bless people with. Especially when you have a huge family :)

The bar is super simple to make! There are no right or wrongs to make it. You can make as much as you want or as little as you want. I didn't use specific measurements for the chocolate or the candy canes.

Here is a list of things that you will need:

Chocolate

Crushed candy canes

• parchment paper
• cookie sheets
• glass bowl
• rubber spatula

Method:

1. Break up your chocolate in pieces and place in your glass bowl. I did mine on a double boiler because I don't have a microwave but if you have one you can use that as well. (Do 30 seconds at a time until your chocolate is melted, be careful of not burning it though.)

2. Bring your water to a gentle boil and mix the pieces of chocolate about every minute or so. You'll notice how it slowly begins to melt.

3. Continue to mix until it's completely melted.

4. Have your cookie sheet ready with the parchment paper layered on top. Pour your melted chocolate and smooth out with your spatula.

5. Grab a handful of your crushed candy canes and sprinkle them over your melted chocolate. You have to do this part quick so that the candy sticks to the chocolate before it starts getting hard again.

6. Put a lot of candy over the chocolate, cover it all up. It seems like a lot but once you shake off the excess, a lot of it comes off!

7. After about an hour the chocolate should be hard again. (If you want to speed the process up, just put in the fridge and it should be ready in about half an hour.) Start breaking it up with your hands and have fun with it. You can leave big chunks of it or break it up into smaller pieces.

After you've broken it all up. You can start eating it, yay!!!

I got little cellophane baggies, filled them up with the chocolate, put a little bit of cute tape on to seal them & put them inside the little boxes.

Once they were closed i added a cute little tag to the side of the box that said "White Chocolate Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark."

And this is how they turned out.

DIY Felt Rosette Wreath

So I wanted to share this Wreath full of rosettes that I just finished a couple days ago. I love the way it turned out. I think the red is beautiful & a color you can use all year round.

It seriously took me forever to make it though. Just as I thought I was done, I had to go to Michael's to get more felt and make more rosettes. Then after making like another 40, I ended up needing more...ahhhh I wanted to scream!!! After one more trip to Michael's again, I finally finished it! Even though I was a little frustrated, I loved the outcome!

Have I ever mentioned how i have an obsession with wreaths?!?

I just love making them, there so fun & look so pretty when there hanging from the front door :)

Shower Curtain Hooks w/ Felt Rosettes

Hey you guys! I'm so sorry I have been so absent lately but, Iv'e got so much going on!!! Don't we all? ;/ Isn't this month supposed to be peaceful! LOL & yet every year i manage to have a thousand things on my plate.

I've been getting as many things as I can done because I have a woman's conference Saturday where I'm blessed by setting up a table with all my crafts, the jewelry that i've made & other fun stuff! I'm so excited but I'm also overwhelmed with trying to get as much done!

So with that being said here's a little something that i whipped up!

It was really easy to make and just incase some of you don't know how to make the felt rosette, i have the tutorial for it below the hooks picture.

I got these hooks at Target on sale and i thought they would be perfect to add something to them since they were a little too plain. I thought, hmmm what about a cute rosette made out of felt?

I started by making the flower. The square is approx. 3/3. It doesn't have to be though, it all depends on how big or small you want your flower.

Cut around your square to create an ugly looking circle like this :)

Once your circle is cut, start cutting towards the inside to form a spiral like this.

Now start rolling it up towards you with the side where you first started cutting your spiral.

Keep on rolling.

Add a little bit of glue to the end to secure the rosette from coming apart.

Now add glue to your curtain hook.

And glue the rosette on.

And there you have them! Cute shower curtain hooks with felt rosettes. A simple idea i know but i thought they would look adorable in any bathroom.

DIY Cookie Stand & The Winner Is Announced!!!

Hello, hope you guys are all having a wonderful day. Today i wanted to share with you guys my first little cookie stand that i made.

When i found this cute little plate i had to get it!

Isn't it adorable?

I already had the candle holder so all i did was get some epoxy glue, followed the simple directions on glueing & i was done.

After the pieces were glued, i whipped out some ribbon and intertwined it in-between the plate. Just like this. I thought it would give it a cute touch with the red.

And here it is, simple & cute.

Please forgive me because the cookies aren't the best looking cookies in the world but, that's all i had at the moment.

DIY Styrofoam Christmas Tree

So today i wanted to share with you all the simple styrofoam tree that i made. After seeing the lovely christmas trees that Kristina from ReMade Simple was making, she inspired me to make my own. Thanks girly :)

I used white yarn and some of those little red decor balls that i used for my Pinecone Garland.

I wasn't sure what to use for the topper so I went to Michaels and found a cute little star. I thought, "this will do it."

Of course you can use whatever color of yarn you want but this is how i did it.

You will need:

Styrofoam cone (whatever size you want)

yarn

little red ball decor

glue gun

glass candleholder

scissors

Start wrapping the yarn around your styrofoam cone. I didn't worry about doing mine all perfect. I just did it all over the place and i loved the way it looked.

Once your done, add a dot of glue to the end of your yarn and glue to set.

Just like this.

Now once you've cut as many mini red balls you want to use, start gluing them onto your tree.

Keep on glueing.

Now grab your glass votive (i got mine @ Michael's, they are all 50% off!!!!) and glue it onto the bottom of your tree so that it becomes a stand.

After you've done that, glue your topper. It doesn't have to have one though. You could do it either way.

And here it is. A pretty white and red tree :)
